C.P. Group to Support Nutritious Meals and Telecommunications for Thai Para Athletes at ASEAN Para Games and Paralympic Games
August 29, 2019, True Tower – Mr.Chutinant Bhirombhakdi, President of the Paralympic Committee of Thailand (PCT),Maj Gen Osoth Bhavilai, Secretary-General of the Paralympic Committee of Thailand , Mr.Nattawut Ruangwes, , Deputy Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand,Mrs. Rungfa Kiatipoj, Special Project of Charoen Pokphand Group, Mr. Narerk Mangkeo, Executive Vice President Charoen Pokphand Foods Plc,Mr. Banyat Kamnoonwatana, Assistant Vice President of CP All Plc, and Mr.Suphakit Vuntanadit, Group Chief Commercial Officer, True Corporation Plc.Charoen Pokphand Group jointly held a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony betweenCharoen Pokphand Group (C.P. Group) and the Paralympic Committee of Thailand to provide support to athletes at the Paralympic and ASEAN Para Games. C.P. Group will supply nutritious meals and telecommunications to Thai athletes participating at the ASEAN Para Games 2020 in the Philippines from January 18-25, 2020 and the Paralympic Games 2020 in Japan from August 25 to September 6, 2020. Thais are invited to cheer their athletes under campaign #Thai Spirit Fighting Spirit (#คนไทยหัวใจนักสู้).
Mr. Chutinant Bhirombhakdi,President of the Paralympic Committee of Thailand (PCT) stated that the PCT appreciated that Thai para-athletes have been equally prioritized by private sector. He especially thanked Charoen Pokphand Group, Charoen Pokphand Foods Plc, CP All Plc, and True Corporation Plc to have continuously supported Thai para-athletes, since the Paralympic Games 2016 in Brazil, ASEAN Para Games 2017 in Malaysia, Asian Para Games 2018 in Indonesia, to the upcoming ASEAN Para Games 2020 in the Philippines and Paralympic Games 2020 in Japan. Apart from facilitating the athletes, the support will also boost morale. In the coming ASEAN Para Games, Thai para-athletes will be participating in all 16 sports. The main goal of the athletes will be to improve their abilities and best their personal records. More than 30% of the athletes will be newcomers, it will be a valuable experience for them before entering the Paralympic Games in the future.
Mrs. Rungfa Kiatipoj, Special Project of Charoen Pokphand Group, said the para-athletes are equally valued by the Group. C.P. Group has also witnessed the determination, dedication, patience and discipline of every para-athlete whom has successfully overcome their obstacles and now represents their country. As a result, Thai para-athletes have constantly shown great performances and are a sourceof pride for the country. With the experience of supporting Thai athletes, C.P. Group has garnered the knowledge to provide the types of food preferred and needed. A list of menus, high in quality, hygiene, food safety and nutrition, has been specially selected to please the palate of every athlete. This year, 18 choices have been selected, which consists of Four Seasons Grilled Duck with Egg Noodles, Glass Noodles with Baked Shrimp, Stir Fried Chicken and Basil with Rice, Deep Fried Fish with Herb & Spicy Sauce with Rice, Chicken Green Curry with Rice, Omelet Mixed with Rice (minced chicken), Fried Garlic Pork with Rice, Fried Rice with Chachu Pork, Pork and Basil leaves Fried Rice, Charcoal Grilled Tender Chicken Fillet, Pork Wonton with Spicy Thai Style Dipping Sauce, Roasted BBQ Chicken, Shrimp Wonton Soup, Shrimp Wonton in Tom Yum Soup, Chili Paste Rice with Chicken Breast, Savoury Boiled Brown Rice with Chicken, Sago with Black Bean in Coconut milk, and Red Bean with Sticky Rice in Coconut milk. Moreover, every athlete will be provided Roaming SIM cards by TrueMove H, with unlimited data, so everyone can always stay connected with their family. Para-athletes from 11 nations will be participating at the 10th ASEAN Para Games 2020, held in the Philippines during January 18-25, 2020. There will be 16 sports that include athletics, swimming, archery, badminton, table tennis, wheelchair tennis, weightlifting, wheelchair volleyball, wheelchair basketball, goalball, boccia, 7-a-side football, bowling, chess and triathlon. A total of 467 people, comprising 323 Thai para-athletes, 91 trainers, 53 assistants, will be participating at the ASEAN Para Games 2020. The 16th Paralympic Games 2020 will be held in Tokyo, Japan, from August 25 to September 6, 2020, with 22 sports.
