On 8th February 2020, Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali Krom Muen Suddhanarinatha assigned Mom Luang Sarali Kitiyakara as Her Royal Highness’ representative to grant “2020 Leader of Virtue Asoke Statue Award” to Mr. Suphachai Chearavanont, Chief Executive Officer of Charoen Pokphand Group (C.P. Group). The Award reflects Mr. Suphachai’ devotion to supporting, promoting, and protecting Buddhism. Such benefits have been extended widely across the nation to the community level. In particular, Mr. Suphachai initiated “True Little Monk,” the first reality television show following a group of youths’ life in becoming a monk. In its ninth season, the show has generated interest among the young generation not only to learn more about but also to seriously practice Buddhism.

The Award ceremony was co-organized by Thailand’s Association of Contributors towards Buddhism; Mahachulalongkorn-Rajavidyalaya University; Thailand’s Center for Buddhism Promotion, under the Supreme Patriarch’s patronage; together with over 40 network organizations. The ceremony took place at Mahachulalongkorn-Rajavidyalaya University campus in Ayutthaya province during week-long events to promote Buddhist teachings, on the occasion of Makha Bucha Day.
