Bangkok, September 30, 2024 – Kao Corporation, a leading global manufacturer of consumer goods and chemicals, and Charoen Pokphand Group (CP Group) participated in a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to advance product innovation for sustainability in the consumer goods and chemical sectors. The collaboration aims to foster a green society for Thai consumers by promoting sustainable business practices and eco-friendly product development.

The signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was led by Mr. Yoshihiro Hasebe, Chairman and CEO of Kao Corporation (Japan), and Mr. Tanit Chearavanont, CEO of Makro Wholesale Business, CP Axtra PCL, representing Charoen Pokphand Group (CP Group). The partnership aims to foster product innovation for a sustainable future. Kao will collaborate with CP to deliver eco-friendly innovations in consumer goods and chemical products, operating under ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) principles to promote hygiene and consumer protection. This initiative will be rolled out through CP’s retail and wholesale businesses, including the “7-Eleven” convenience stores, “Lotus’s” retail outlets, and “Makro” wholesale stores. The collaboration between these two global companies combines their expertise towards a shared goal of building a sustainable green society. The event was attended by Mr. Yuji Shimizu, Chairman of Kao Industrial (Thailand) Co., Ltd., and executives from CP Group.

  • Import eco-friendly products from Kao Corporation for exclusive sale in CP Group’s retail chains.
  • Collaborate to address societal challenges and develop products for industries related to CP Group’s business, leveraging the expertise of both companies.
  • Expand opportunities for collaboration in the chemical business sector.
  • Work together on the design and development of shelf-ready packaging and pallets for exclusive distribution under the “Club Model” concept at all Makro and Lotus’s stores, under CP Axtra.

Kao’s 60th Anniversary Exhibition ‘Saving Future Smiles’

In celebration of Kao Thailand’s 60th anniversary, the company is hosting the “Kao 60 Years: Saving Future Smiles” exhibition to commemorate its six decades of commitment to the Thai people. Continuing its mission to "promote hygiene and spread smiles to Thai consumers," Kao is showcasing 11 key brands that focus on health and hygiene protection, including Attack, Haiter®, Magiclean, Biore, Curél, Jergens, Liese, FASIO, MegRhythm, Laurier, and Merries. These brands have been integral to daily life and have stood alongside consumers for many years. The exhibition is open to the public free of charge from now until October 5, 2024, at Samyan Mitrtown shopping center, G floor, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
