CP CEO “Suphachai Chearavanont” Highlights “Inclusive Business” Model at GCNT Forum 2024 As President of the UNGCNT Association, Suphachai Chearavanont advocates for sustainable profits while promoting social equality

December 2, 2024 – The UN Global Compact Network Thailand (UNGCNT) and the United Nations in Thailand Host Annual GCNT Forum 2024

The event was held under the theme “Inclusive Business: The Future Business Model for Sustainable Profits”, aiming to stimulate local economies and foster social equality. The initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), targeting achievement by 2030.

At the event, Mr. Suphachai Chearavanont, CEO of Charoen Pokphand Group and President of UNGCNT, delivered a keynote speech titled “Forward Faster to 2030 for Inclusive Business”. He emphasized the importance of driving inclusive business models that generate sustainable profits while promoting equity across all dimensions of society.

Additionally, Ms. Michaela Filbry-Storey, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Thailand, and Mr. Pichai Naripthaphan, Minister of Commerce, spoke on fostering a Thai society where no one is left behind.

The forum saw participation from over 900 attendees, including senior executives from public and private sectors.

Dr. Teerapol Thanomsakyut, Chief Sustainability Officer of Charoen Pokphand Group, participated in a panel discussion titled “Bold Step, Lasting Change – Collective Actions to Accelerate Human Capital that Foster an Equitable Society”. He highlighted the critical role of the private sector in addressing societal challenges and developing human capital by leveraging resources and technology to improve quality of life and create opportunities for younger generations.

Dr. Teerapol emphasized five key pillars for organizational transformation: transparency, market network building, leadership skill development, employee engagement, and technology utilization. He also showcased initiatives like the Connect ED project, which enhances education in rural schools through digital platforms, as a prime example of impactful, technology-driven solutions.

Mr. Manat Manavutiveth, CEO and Executive Director of True Corporation Public Company Limited, participated in a panel discussion on “Inclusive Business”. He addressed the utilization of digital technology to expand economic and educational opportunities, aiming to foster social equality. Joining him in the discussion were Ms. Kattiya Indaravijaya, CEO of Kasikornbank Public Company Limited; Ms. Thapanee Techacharoenvikul, CEO and Managing Director of Berli Jucker Public Company Limited; and Mr. Preeda Tiasuwan, Founder and Chairman of Pranda Jewelry Public Company Limited.

The GCNT Forum highlighted the pivotal role of Charoen Pokphand Group as a leader in sustainability, showcasing the collective efforts of over 140 member organizations across all industries. Together, they are advancing responsible and sustainable business practices guided by the philosophy of the Sufficiency Economy to achieve all 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. The forum emphasized the importance of fostering equality and ensuring no one is left behind.
