Senior Chairman Dhanin Chearavanont participated in the China-Thailand Economic and Trade Conference 2025, advocating for the use of technology to create economic opportunities in the region
Bangkok, January 21, 2025 – Charoen Pokphand Group (CP Group), led by Senior Chairman Dhanin Chearavanont, alongside Mr. Xie Yi, Senior Vice President, and Mr. Huang Weiwei, Senior Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Strategic Development and China Cooperation, participated in the China-Thailand Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference 2025.
The event also promoted the 3rd China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE), organized by the Thai Chamber of Commerce, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), and the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (TCBC), with support from leading business and industrial organizations in Thailand and China.
More than 300 attendees joined the event, including representatives from the public and private sectors and key organizations in the region, such as Mr. Suchart Chomklin, Deputy Minister of Commerce; Mr. Ren Hongbin, Chairman of CCPIT, People’s Republic of China; Mr. Narongsak Phutthaprommongkhon, Chairman of the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce; Mr. Jiang Wei, Minister Counselor for Economic and Commercial Affairs, Embassy of China in Thailand; Mr. Sanan Angubolkul, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce; Mr. Vikrom Kromadit, Chairman of the Thai-Chinese Business Council; and Mr. Arun Iamsuree, Chairman of the Thailand-China Economic and Investment Institute. The event took place at the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce Building in Bangkok.
Senior Chairman Dhanin Chearavanont delivered a speech emphasizing his confidence in China’s potential to create investment opportunities for a better future under the leadership of President Xi Jinping. He highlighted China's significant advancements in various areas, including its vast market, cutting-edge technologies, robust infrastructure, and rapidly evolving education system.
As the leader of Charoen Pokphand Group, Senior Chairman Dhanin underscored the importance of integrating technology into business operations to enhance competitiveness and adapt to rapidly changing market demands. He specifically mentioned the development of modern factories capable of improving production efficiency by up to five times while significantly reducing production costs, all with the same level of investment.
Senior Chairman Dhanin also spoke about the China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) held in Beijing, which brings together leading global enterprises. CP Group has participated in the expo twice and regards it as a vital platform for networking, exchanging knowledge and technology, and providing Thai entrepreneurs with opportunities to learn about innovative technologies from around the world.
Additionally, Senior Chairman Dhanin Chearavanont praised the new generation of Chinese entrepreneurs who play pivotal roles in industries such as private aerospace, big data processing, and private satellite manufacturing. He recognized these young innovators as key drivers of future trade cooperation between Thailand and China.
He emphasized that Thailand stands to gain immensely from its position as the center of ASEAN, particularly with China’s market being 20 times larger than Thailand’s. Chinese investments in Thailand not only create jobs but also enhance the export of high-quality products to global and Chinese markets.
Senior Chairman Dhanin also highlighted that Thailand's monarchy serves as a crucial factor in ensuring political stability and security, creating a favorable environment for investment. He extended an invitation to Chinese companies to invest more in Thailand, emphasizing the country’s strong potential and strategic advantages.
On this occasion, Mr. Xie Yi, Senior Vice President of Charoen Pokphand Group (CP Group), had the honor of representing CP Group in signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for cooperation between leading organizations from Thailand and China at the 3rd China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE). The MOU was signed in collaboration with China International Exhibition Center Group Co., Ltd. and six major Thai organizations: the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade of Thailand, the Federation of Thai Industries, the Thai-Chinese Business Council, the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Charoen Pokphand Group Co., Ltd. (CP), and TCG Group Co., Ltd. The objective of this partnership is to promote CISCE and strengthen the economic relationship between Thailand and China.
This conference represents a significant milestone in advancing strategic economic cooperation between Thailand and China. It fosters business networking, trade expansion, and the development of regional and international supply chains, while also highlighting Thailand’s readiness to serve as a hub for supply chain management and international trade in Southeast Asia.
