Thai Lunch Schools
Thai Lunch Schools
Charoen Pokphand for Rural Lives' Development Foundation
Malnutrition is one of the problems that the youth of the country have to face due to a lack of complete nutrition according to the principles of nutrition needs, especially protein. Therefore, the Thai Lunch Schools project was begun. The project aims to support protein accessibility, which is fresh, clean and safe, covering all communities and rural areas.
The foundation has recruited schools that meet the criteria such as having more than 10% of malnutrition condition and being management and physical ready, etc.
After passing the recruitment, the foundation will support the establishment of a chicken coop, providing hen breeders with their food, medicine, and vitamins. The company will only support one generation of them, together with being a raising consultant and managing with animal husbandry the raising of laying hen operators.
After the school has received goods, "eggs", they will be sold to the Thai Lunch Schools project. Income from selling goods will become working capital for purchasing relevant production factors for future generations. This is a type of management for sustainability and assuring schools’ participation effectively.
