Journey from ”Put our heart into Food” to Food Bank Vietnam
There is a serious food paradox in Vietnam. While there are @ 9,000 tons of food being shortfall annually for the needy in Vietnam, Vietnam ranks the 2nd in the Asian in terms of food waste. Those wasted food go to landfill & produce methane, which pollute the environment and makes the earth warmer.
It is necessary to change Vietnamese's awareness and their practices of preventing food waste in order to prevent the hunger for the needy and protect the environment simultaneously.
With the Vision "No hunger and No Food wates in Vietnam”, the project aims to:
- Supporting food by being a connecting between organizations with excess food resources and social organizations in need of food.
- Raising awareness on combating food waste in the community (especial business, the youth, housewife and community).
From 2021 to 2023: FBVN has been operating Foodshare Project as a social network to share food for disadvantaged people, and low-income people in society, which give them the opportunity to approach clean and nutritious food. Also striving to become an official member of the Global Food Banking Network. Expanding operations in 4 cities and provinces.
