At present, there is insufficient blood supply to meet demands at the Lao National Blood Center. During COVID-19, in particular, blood donation has become relatively rare, resulting in inadequate amount of blood for the daily demand. Making a blood donation is equivalent to extending the life of another human being. Often, the Blood Bank failed to supply the targeted amount of blood, causing delay or inefficiency in the treatment of patients. Therefore, C.P. Lao collaborated with the Lao National Blood Center to carry out a blood donation project. As a result, 680 units of blood were donated in 2021.
