Sustainable Agriculture Water Resources Project to help farmers in Myanmar
A survey of irrigated farming areas in the area responsible for pro farm work in Napyitaw - Bago district, Myanmar, found that there are some agricultural areas that the irrigation canals cannot cover completely. The area is far from natural water sources which leads to the challenges where farmers can cultivate for only one season. In addition, there is a risk of drought conditions during the rainy season. As a result, the agricultural products are lesser than expected and it results in a relatively low income which is insufficient for their living.
The project “Sustainable Water Resources for Agriculture” has been carried out and it begins by drilling artesian wells in the affected areas. Moreover, the company supports the farmers to continue planting and buying their products, this includes sweet corn, fodder maize, and other crops that can be marketed as fully integrated.

At the same time, the company is offering credits for agricultural materials/tools directly from the factory of CP in Myanmar. This includes the use of an agricultural platform that is available for farmers. With these supports, the farmers can continue farming and earn adequate and sustaining income for their families.
